Principal, Lisa Williams

My name is Lisa P. Williams and I am excited to be the principal at Sternberger Elementary School!  At Sternberger, we are proud to be known as “WORLD CHANGERS.”  Sternberger students engage in instructional activities that are designed to promote collaboration, enhance individual learning styles, and challenge their critical thinking skills.  With the support of highly trained, nurturing staff members as well as our wonderful parent community, we will continue to achieve success for our students.  As our motto, “WORLD CHANGERS” indicates, we are on our way to change the world!

Facts about Mrs. Williams:

I earned my Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University in 1993. Additionally, I have my Masters of School Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  I taught elementary school for 17 years before becoming a public school administrator.  My family consists of my loving husband, Willie, and my three wonderful sons Kyle, Jordan, and Christian.

 

Assistant Principal, Whitney Killian

Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, Whitney Killian will serve as our new assistant principal.  

Dear World Changer Families, Students, and Staff,

I am honored to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Sternberger Elementary School! I know that I have big shoes to fill following in the footsteps of Ms. Veach and wish her success in her principal role for the 2025-2026 school year! It is a privilege to join a community known for its commitment to excellence.

I am joining the Sternberger team with over ten years in Guilford County Schools, teaching 5th through 8th grades. Most recently, I have served as Assistant Principal at Mendenhall Middle School for the last four years. While at Mendenhall, I have supported our students as they transition into middle school and onwards to high school. I am passionate about building relationships with students and staff and making school a safe place for all students.

I am deeply committed to the success of Sternberger, as my son is a future World Changer! I live in the community with my husband, one son, and goldendoodle, Hazel. I grew up in Michigan, earning my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Saginaw Valley State University and later my Master’s in School Administration from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. My husband is also an elementary school Assistant Principal! When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, and reading.

I believe collaboration is essential to a successful school community and look forward to partnering with students, family, staff, and community members to ensure that Sternberger remains a place where every learner feels valued, supported, and inspired.
